Caller reports kids playing with fireworks just before Hood River grass fire, police say

The city blaze burned about two acres of grass and trees just below the trail in Eliot Park between Third Street and Fifth Street. The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. and spread 100 feet down the drainage. Firefighters put it out within a half-hour with the help of the Oregon Department of Forestry and other crews.
